Cyber Security Strategic Portfolio Manager
Location: Cologne
Our client is seeking a Cyber Security Strategic Portfolio Manager. This role focuses on shaping and executing cyber security strategies that protect the organisation against evolving digital threats. In this position you will work closely with internal departments, IT and business functions across divisions, and external service providers through large-scale initiatives and programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead development and execution of strategies and roadmaps for key cyber security domains (e.g., Risk Management, Cloud Security).
- Collaborate with divisional security, IT, and business teams to define requirements and deliver cyber security programs.
- Present strategies and progress updates to senior leadership and governance bodies.
- Support divisional project managers in planning and executing detailed project plans (scope, timeline, budget, resources).
- Oversee project delivery to ensure compliance with quality, security, and schedule requirements.
- Identify and resolve program-level risks and issues with relevant stakeholders.
- Provide regular portfolio and implementation updates to Group-level security leadership.
- Drive annual strategic reviews and planning cycles to ensure transparency and continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with security and service management stakeholders.
- Define, track, and report KPIs to measure initiative effectiveness and performance.
- Analyse performance data to identify gaps and lead improvement efforts with cross-functional teams.
Requirements:
- University degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Extensive professional experience in portfolio management or managing cross-functional security projects at an enterprise level.
- Proven expertise in strategy development, ideally with experience in consulting or advisory roles.
- Strong understanding of cyber security frameworks, technologies, and best practices; industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) are a plus.
- Excellent written and spoken English skills.
- Strong analytical thinking and conceptual planning abilities.
- Skilled in managing diverse stakeholders and influencing at all organisational levels.
- Confident, assertive, and capable of driving initiatives independently.
