- Innovate and implement new designs for refractory linings;
- Using 3D CAD software and basic thermodynamics;
- Ensuring conformity towards internal specifications and external codes/ general applied rules of reformers/ reactors or heat exchangers;
- Interdisciplinary coordination;
- Close exchange with vendors: inquiries, technical negotiations
- Inspections at workshops;
- Governance during installation of refractory linings at customer sites.
Ihr Profil
- Strong solution-oriented mind-set;
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar;
Basic knowledge about
- the fundamentals of heat transfer,
- the material selection criteria for refractory linings of syngas producing units.
Desirable
- quality assurance during manufacturing and assembly at site;
- Experience in 3D CAD design, preferably in Solidworks
- Good knowledge of general applied codes like ASME (I, V, VIII Div 1 and 2, IX), API, DIN/EN/ISO, PED.
- Ability & willingness to travel abroad;
- Fluent English.

The (Junior) Engineer for Fired Equipment/ Refractory Expert is part of an international team of experts and is responsible for the design, development and governance of the manufacturing and installation of fireproof components that are part of Proprietary Equipments of Lurgi Technologies.
Based on patented and innovative solutions, such as Air Liquide’s Autothermal Reformer (ATR), Partial Oxidation Reactor (POx) or its Sulfur Recovery Units (Lurgi OxyClaus™) for customers worldwide, this position acts as a key enabler of AL E&C Proprietary Equipment to ensure equipment performance. Unique and benchmark-setting equipment design are one of the key pillars that brought AL E&C to its current market position, where you are going to have a chance to shape the future of it!
Embedded in a motivated and agile team, that comprises of various competencies like computational experts or materials engineering specialists, this position acts also in close collaboration with Lurgi Technology teams, Air Liquide’s R&D centers and other engineering disciplines.
By this, you are going to perform as an enabler for Air Liquide’s technology leadership in the hydrogen driven energy transition and to reduce the CO2 footprint of chemical plants of Air Liquide and its customers.
