Metal Fabrication Technician

What You’ll Be Doing
- Operate CNC machines including milling, turning, and grinding
- Set up machines and run production processes efficiently
- Show a strong willingness to learn new machinery related to optics production such as diamond turning, vacuum coating, and dimensional metrology
- Support new product development in precision optics
- Perform complex machine setups and operate with minimal supervision, guided by engineering or supervisors
- Interpret technical drawings and have basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Record inspection data, labor hours, and job details in manufacturing systems
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Utilize manual inspection tools and show interest in advanced metrology training
- Be flexible with potential shift work requirements
What You Bring
- Vocational training or apprenticeship in machining or technical disciplines such as precision mechanics, cutting machine operation, or manufacturing technology
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in manual machining or metal fabrication in a production setting
- A proactive, can-do attitude and readiness to carry out tasks of varying complexity within defined processes
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Solid verbal and written communication in English; German language skills are a plus
